Winds and Waves Confirmed Pokémon & Rumored Regional Forms
Every Confirmed Pokémon, New Species, andRumored Regional Forms So Far
The first trailer for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves gave us much more than a look at Generation 10's three new starters. Hidden throughout the islands, forests, beaches, caves, reefs and underwater environments were dozens of familiar Pokémon that help give us our first idea of what the new regional Pokédex might look like.
Confirmed Pokemon
Very Likely: Slowking, and others
A Slowking image appears on a poster in official Winds and Waves material, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee that Slowking itself is obtainable in the game. Bulbapedia therefore records the appearance but keeps it outside its main list of directly revealed returning Pokémon.

Then, in May 2026, The Pokémon Company released behind-the-scenes footage of the NHK Symphony Orchestra recording the Winds and Waves main theme. The video included Pokémon merchandise, including Oranguru and Comfey plushes, even though those species had not appeared in the game's reveal footage.
Rumored Regional Forms: Psyduck, Shellos, Houdour, and more
- Psyduck (#054) — Reportedly receives an Ice/Psychic regional form along with a new evolutionary path, making it one of the more detailed claims to emerge from the leaks.
- Arcanine (#059) — Arcanine is included among the Pokémon reportedly receiving new regional treatment, although reliable details about its design and typing remain scarce.
- Onix (#095) — Rather than simply leading to Steelix, the Winds and Waves version of the Onix line is rumored to receive a new regional evolution.
- Drowzee (#096) — Drowzee is rumored to gain a new form or evolutionary branch, with leaks describing a Buddha-inspired new evolution.
- Houndour (#228) — The Houndour line is reportedly among those receiving a new regional evolution, potentially taking the line in a different direction from Houndoom.
- Nincada (#290) — Nincada is another Pokémon repeatedly named in the leaks, with a regional form and/or new evolution reportedly planned for its unusual evolutionary family.
- Kecleon (#352) — Kecleon appears on the leaked list of returning Pokémon receiving regional treatment, although no well-sourced typing or design information has surfaced yet.
- Clamperl (#366) — Clamperl's already branching evolution line may become even more complicated, with leaks suggesting it could receive a new regional evolution.
- Shellos (#422) — Shellos is particularly fitting for the concept of regional variation, and the leaks claim another geographically distinct form could appear in Winds and Waves.
- Lucario (#448) — The enormously popular Lucario is included on the rumored list, though details about exactly how its Winds and Waves form would differ remain unknown.
- Zweilous (#634) — Zweilous is reportedly set to receive a brand-new regional evolution, although some reports suggest the underlying regional change may begin with Deino earlier in the line.
- Salandit (#757) — Salandit is rumored to receive a new regional evolution, with some leak reports describing the resulting Pokémon as Poison/Dragon and tying its inspiration to volcanic island wildlife.
- Pikachu (#025) — Pikachu also appears on the leaked regional-form list, although it remains unclear whether this is connected to the already revealed Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu or represents something entirely different.
A substantial round of reports surfaced in July claiming that Winds and Waves could contain numerous regional forms and new evolutions. Pokémon mentioned in those reports have included Psyduck, Onix, Houndour, Nincada, Shellos, Zweilous and others. Some reports have gone as far as claiming roughly 13 new regional variants.
For example, one rumor claims that Psyduck could receive an Ice/Psychic variation with an entirely different evolutionary path, while another claims that Onix may receive an alternative evolution rather than simply becoming Steelix. Neither claim has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company or Game Freak.
These leaks are interesting enough to monitor—especially because some earlier Winds and Waves information ultimately proved accurate—but none of those Pokémon belong on a confirmed Generation 10 regional-form list yet.
New Pokemon

Pokémon describes them as Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon; Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon; and Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon. They retain the familiar Grass, Fire and Water starter arrangement and have Overgrow, Blaze and Torrent respectively.
Browt is a pure Grass-type Pokémon standing just one foot tall. The leaves above its eyes aren't simply an oversized pair of leafy eyebrows: Pokémon says Browt uses them to photosynthesize while running around.
Pombon is the new Fire-type Puppy Pokémon and resembles a heavily furred small dog—particularly a Pomeranian. According to Pokémon, Pombon has a heat-generating organ inside its lungs, which causes the area beneath its throat to glow. It is officially characterized as friendly and guileless.
Gecqua is a pure Water-type Water Gecko Pokémon with one of the most unusual biological abilities of the trio: it can launch springy balls of water from its tail.

Still to Come
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves aren't scheduled to release until 2027, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Game Freak has revealed an entire new region, its three starters and several ecosystems while still withholding almost every other new Pokémon.
There are still no officially revealed early-route Pokémon, regional bird, regional bug, pseudo-Legendary, fossils, version mascots or legendary Pokémon.
And despite widespread leaks and rumors, there are currently no officially confirmed Generation 10 regional forms. That means the overwhelming majority of the Winds and Waves Pokédex is still waiting to be revealed. For now, we know three new Pokémon, 25 returning species, two very strange Pikachu—and a whole lot of ocean.
PokéLore will keep this page updated as new Pokémon, returning species and regional forms are officially revealed.
