The Old Fashioned Way

Maybe you like the nostaliga of the hunt, or maybe you enjoy pain.

Checklist

Head to the bottom of Mt. Coronet to the lake on BF1. You will need Strength to get there. Begin Surfing, use your Repels. FISH ONE ENCOUNTER PER TILE. Do not fish 2-3 as most guides recommend. This wastes time. The next fresh tile will always have a higher chance of holding a Feebas than the tile you have fished.

Keep fishing one encounter tile by tile until you have either found a Feebas, or fished through the entire lake. It is unlikely, but If you reach the end of the lake without finding Feebas, simply make your way back through the lake again.

Why once per tile again?

NOTE: This applies to Route 119 in Hoenn, but the same logic applies here. flipflipshift on reddit has done math explaining why fishing each tile once as you go through the river is fastest. These numbers are taken directly from his post. (link below) These number show the average number of encounters that can be expected from each method before Feebas is encountered. Please see his original post (link at the bottom of this guide)

  • Once per tile -128 Encounters/Feebas
  • Twice per tile - 170 Encounters/Feebas
  • Thrice per tile - 217 Encounters/Feebas
