Feebas Tile Calculator

We have developed a Tile Calculator for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. You can get a hint, or get exact tile location by uploading your .sav file if you are playing on emulation, or by entering two consecutive days lottery numbers. This is by far the FASTEST way.

Standard Method

In BF1 of Mt Coronet, 4 out of 528 lake Tiles have a 50% chance to fish up a Feebas. They reset DAILY at 00:00 game clock time. If you want to brute force it. This is the fastest way to do so.

Checklist

Feebas sits at the bottom of the lake in Mt. Coronet.
Feebas awaits you at the bottom of the underground lake.

Tragically, both Sticky Hold and Suction Cups overworld abilty, which improves fishing success rates, do not work in Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum due to a bug. (They chose to carry this forward into Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl as well)

Step by Step

  • Make your way to BF1 of Mount Coronet. You will need Strength to move boulders out of the way.
  • BF1 is a fog room, so you may want to use Defog to make things more enjoyable and visible.
  • Hop in the water with Surf, and use your first Super Repel. This will prevent you from encountering Pokémon while surfing. Feebas can only be encountered while fishing.

FISH EACH TILE ONLY ONCE. Fishing a tile twice wastes time and increases your average encounter/Feebas Ratio. If you have already fished a tile, the next, unfished tile will have a higher chance to have a Feebas than the tile you have just fished once already. Make your way through the entire lake.

Why only once?

The following numbers were calculated by flipflipshift on reddit for Route 119 in Hoenn. The principle still apply here however.

  • Once per tile -128 Encounters/Feebas
  • Twice per tile - 170 Encounters/Feebas
  • Thrice per tile - 217 Encounters/Feebas

There is a small chance you may make your way through the entire lake and not hook a Feebas. Simply work your way back through, or wait until the clock resets the tiles and try again.
