Revived Pokemon

The Armor Fossil revives into Shieldon, which evolves into Bastiodon at level 30.

Playthrough Notes

Extreme defensive wall.

Bastiodon can absorb many neutral attacks, but its low offensive stats and severe Fighting and Ground weaknesses often make it slower and less convenient for story progression.

Use it to absorb resisted attacks, apply status, or buy time. Avoid any opponent likely to carry Fighting- or Ground-type moves.

Durable but usually less efficient than Cranidos for a normal story run.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths: Excellent Defense and Special Defense. Many resistances from its Rock/Steel typing. Evolves at level 30. Can be useful for stalling or safely healing other team members.

Weaknesses: Four-times weak to Fighting and Ground. Very low offensive power. Low Speed. Can struggle to finish battles without strong TMs or status damage.

Choice Context

Choose the Skull Fossil for offense. Choose the Armor Fossil only when the team specifically needs a defensive wall.

Skull Fossil is usually easier for a normal playthrough.
