Revived Pokemon

The Skull Fossil revives into Cranidos, which evolves into Rampardos at level 30.

Playthrough Notes

Glass-cannon physical attacker.

Rampardos has an absurd 160 Attack and can knock out many opponents in one hit, but its low (58) Speed and poor defenses mean it may take heavy damage first.

Bring it in safely, then use the strongest accurate physical attack available. Rock Polish can help if the game and moveset support it.

Generally the more convenient Sinnoh fossil for an ordinary playthrough.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths: Exceptional physical Attack. Evolves earlier than most fossil Pokémon. Can demolish neutral targets with strong physical moves. Simple offensive role.

Weaknesses: Low Speed. Weak defensive stats. Rock moves may be inaccurate or cause recoil depending on the moveset. Common weaknesses can make switching in difficult.

Choice Context

Choose the Skull Fossil for offense. Choose the Armor Fossil only when the team specifically needs a defensive wall.

Skull Fossil is usually easier for a normal playthrough.
