Revived Pokemon

The Plume Fossil revives into Archen, which evolves into Archeops at level 37.

Playthrough Notes

Very fast mixed attacker with a health-management drawback.

Archeops has excellent offensive stats(140 Attack and 112 Special Attack), making it one of the strongest fossil Pokémon for normal battles while above half HP. Its Defeatist ability sharply reduces its offenses after its health falls below half.

Keep it healed and let it attack first (110 Speed). Use items between battles so Defeatist does not remain active.

Usually the most straightforward choice between the two, provided the player keeps it healthy.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths: Excellent Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. Strong Flying and Rock coverage. Can use both physical and special moves. Often knocks out opponents before taking damage.

Weaknesses: Defeatist weakens its offenses below half HP. Several common weaknesses. Requires healing more often than most team members.

Choice Context

Choose the Cover Fossil for a sturdy setup attacker. Choose the Plume Fossil for immediate speed and offensive power.

Archeops is strongest above half HP because of Defeatist.

Plume Fossil is usually easier for a normal playthrough.
