Heatmor Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Heatmor in a Playthrough
Heatmor is a single-stage pure Fire Pokemon with mixed attacking stats—base 97 Attack and 105 Special Attack—but only base 65 Speed and 66 in both defenses. Flamethrower or Fire Blast, Fire Lash from Generation VII onward, Giga Drain, Superpower, Sucker Punch, Knock Off, Focus Blast, and other coverage let it attack from either side of the spectrum. Gluttony causes certain held Berries to activate at half HP rather than one-quarter, Flash Fire grants a complete Fire immunity and boosts Fire moves after absorbing one, and the Hidden Ability White Smoke prevents opponents from lowering Heatmor's stats. Fire Lash is particularly useful in later generations because it deals physical Fire damage while lowering the target's Defense, allowing Heatmor or a physical teammate to snowball pressure. Pure Fire is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock and resists several common types, but Heatmor's mediocre defenses and low Speed mean it rarely wants to take unnecessary neutral hits. Modest, Mild, Rash, or Adamant can all make sense depending on whether the set is special, mixed, or physical.
Heatmor in Competitive Pokémon
Heatmor was a BW ZU Pokemon with a small lower-tier niche as a mixed attacker. Its 105 Special Attack and 97 Attack let it combine Fire Blast with Giga Drain, Superpower, and Sucker Punch to punish several different kinds of switch-ins, while Flash Fire could generate a free Fire boost if Heatmor entered on the right move. The problem was always its base 65 Speed and mediocre 85/66/66 bulk, which left it easy to revenge kill and difficult to bring into battle safely. Later access to Fire Lash gave Heatmor a distinctive physical tool that always lowers the target's Defense when it connects, but even SM analyses still describe it as badly hindered by low Speed and competition from stronger Fire-types. Heatmor therefore has real offensive flexibility without ever developing the efficiency needed for sustained upper-tier play.
Heatmor in Nuzlockes
Heatmor can be useful in a Nuzlocke because it arrives fully evolved and has enough mixed offense to exploit whichever defensive stat is weaker. Flash Fire is the safest ability because it creates a full immunity and can turn a predicted Fire attack into an immediate damage boost. Sucker Punch can finish weakened faster threats, while Giga Drain provides some recovery against Water- or Ground-type targets that do not move first and KO Heatmor. Water, Ground, and Rock attacks are dangerous, and its low Speed means it frequently takes damage before acting. Flamethrower is generally safer than Fire Blast when the extra power is unnecessary, while Fire Lash's guaranteed Defense drop can provide reliable physical utility in later generations.

Using their very hot, flame-covered tongues, they burn through Durant’s steel bodies and consume their insides.
It draws in air through its tail, transforms it into fire, and uses it like a tongue. It melts Durant and eats them.
There’s a hole in its tail that allows it to draw in the air it needs to keep its fire burning. If the hole gets blocked, this Pokémon will fall ill.
A flame serves as its tongue, melting through the hard shell of Durant so that Heatmor can devour their insides.

Heatmor Biology and Behavior
Heatmor is an anteater-like predator whose body functions partly like a furnace. It draws air through the opening in its tail to keep an internal fire burning and expels that fire from its mouth as a long, flame-covered tongue. Durant are its preferred prey: Heatmor uses the fiery tongue to melt through their steel armor and consume the softer body inside. If the tail opening becomes blocked, Heatmor can become ill because it can no longer draw in enough air to maintain its internal combustion.

Heatmor Size Comparison: BETA
Heatmor is listed at 4' 7" (1.4 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
