Galvantula Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Galvantula in a Playthrough
Joltik evolves into Galvantula at level 36, producing a fast Bug/Electric special attacker with base 108 Speed and 97 Special Attack. Thunder and Bug Buzz form powerful dual STAB, while Volt Switch, Energy Ball or Giga Drain, Electro Ball, Thunder Wave, and from Generation VI onward Sticky Web provide offense and team support. Compound Eyes multiplies move accuracy by 1.3, raising Thunder from 70 percent to roughly 91 percent accuracy and making Galvantula's strongest Electric attack far more reliable outside rain. Unnerve prevents opponents from consuming Berries, while the Hidden Ability Swarm strengthens Bug attacks at low HP. Bug/Electric has only Fire and Rock weaknesses while resisting Electric, Fighting, Grass, and Steel, but 70/60/60 bulk is poor enough that even resisted strong attacks can hurt badly. Timid is usually ideal because Speed is the line's best defensive tool, and Sticky Web can make slower teammates dramatically more effective by lowering the Speed of grounded opponents when they switch in.
Galvantula in Competitive Pokémon
Galvantula began BW as a legitimate RU special attacker. Base 108 Speed, base 97 Special Attack, Bug/Electric STAB, Volt Switch, and Compound Eyes gave it a distinctive niche, with Compound Eyes raising Thunder to about 91 percent accuracy and turning an otherwise unreliable 120-base-power Generation V attack into a practical primary STAB. Its competitive identity changed further in Generation VI when it gained Sticky Web. Galvantula became one of the most recognizable offensive Sticky Web leads because it could establish teamwide Speed control while still threatening opponents with Thunder, Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, and Volt Switch instead of becoming passive after setting the hazard. It remained a useful Sticky Web specialist through later lower tiers, including SM, while modern SV lists it in PU and still supports offensive sets. Its frailty and Stealth Rock weakness make repeated entries difficult, but few hazard setters combine comparable Speed, immediate offensive pressure, and an unusually accurate Thunder.
Galvantula in Nuzlockes
Galvantula can be very useful in Nuzlockes because base 108 Speed helps it avoid attacks, and Sticky Web can make an entire team safer by slowing grounded opponents that enter later. Compound Eyes makes Thunder much more reliable than normal, but roughly 91 percent accuracy is still not perfect; Thunderbolt is safer whenever the extra power is unnecessary. Bug/Electric has only Fire and Rock weaknesses, yet Galvantula's 60 Defense and 60 Special Defense mean strong neutral moves can still be dangerous despite the favorable weakness count. Volt Switch is excellent for dealing damage while escaping bad matchups, and Energy Ball can punish Ground-types that are immune to Electric STAB. Timid Galvantula is best used as a fast attacker and momentum generator rather than a Pokemon expected to take repeated hits.

Galvantula Biology and Behavior
Galvantula spins electrically charged silk that functions as both a hunting tool and a defensive barrier. It places electrified threads around bird Pokemon nests to capture chicks that cannot yet fly, and prey struck by its electrical attacks can remain stunned for as long as three days and nights while Galvantula feeds at its leisure. Strong pedipalps help hold struggling prey in place. Galvantula is not normally indiscriminately aggressive, but groups can attack when provoked, and animated portrayals show adults behaving protectively toward Joltik.

Galvantula Size Comparison: BETA
Galvantula is listed at 2' 7" (0.8 m); this chart uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
Galvantula currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
