Using Galarian Stunfisk in a Playthrough
Unovan and Galarian Stunfisk share the same base 109 HP and base 32 Speed but use very different typings and stat emphasis. Unovan Stunfisk is Ground/Electric with 84 Defense, 81 Special Attack, and 99 Special Defense; Discharge, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Stealth Rock, Yawn, Toxic or Thunder Wave in older games, and other utility make it a slow special tank. Static can paralyze contact attackers, Limber prevents paralysis, and the Hidden Ability Sand Veil increases evasion in sand while preventing sandstorm damage. Galarian Stunfisk becomes Ground/Steel and swaps the offensive and defensive emphasis to 81 Attack, 99 Defense, 66 Special Attack, and 84 Special Defense, favoring Earthquake, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock, Yawn, Curse, Foul Play, and the trapping move Snap Trap. Its only ability, Mimicry, changes its type to match active terrain, which can be useful but also removes the predictable defensive profile that normally makes Ground/Steel valuable. Bold or Calm suit Unovan Stunfisk, while Careful or Impish are natural for the Galarian form.
Galarian Stunfisk in Competitive Pokémon
Unovan Stunfisk was one of BW PU's best utility walls. Ground/Electric typing, 109 HP, solid mixed defenses, an Electric immunity, Stealth Rock, Discharge, Earth Power, Toxic, and Static let it check many Flying-, Rock-, Poison-, Steel-, and Electric-type threats while spreading paralysis almost incidentally. Smogon describes it as one of the format's most dependable defensive anchors, although Grass-, Water-, Ground-, and Ice-type attacks prevent it from walling indiscriminately. Galarian Stunfisk occupies a different niche in Sword and Shield: Ground/Steel grants excellent resistances and both Electric and Poison immunities, while Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Yawn, Curse, and Foul Play let it function as a bulky special wall in ZU and PU-level play. Mimicry is often more awkward than a conventional defensive ability because terrain can unexpectedly alter its typing, but the base defensive profile is strong enough to give the regional form a real lower-tier niche. Neither form is a major offensive threat; both succeed by absorbing attacks, setting hazards, and making contact or switching costly.
Galarian Stunfisk in Nuzlockes
Both Stunfisk forms can be useful Nuzlocke walls because base 109 HP and solid defenses allow them to survive many neutral attacks, but their weaknesses are very different and should never be conflated. Unovan Stunfisk is immune to Electric and resists Flying, Poison, Rock, and Steel, but is weak to Water, Grass, Ice, and Ground; Static can occasionally paralyze a contact attacker and make the rest of the battle much safer. Galarian Stunfisk is immune to Electric and Poison and carries a much larger resistance list through Ground/Steel, but is weak to Fire, Water, Fighting, and Ground. Yawn and Stealth Rock offer low-risk team support, while Rock Slide is generally safer than Stone Edge if damage is already sufficient. Galarian Mimicry can unexpectedly change typing under terrain, so players should account for the active terrain before assuming a resistance or immunity is still present.

Its skin is very hard, so it is unhurt even if stepped on by sumo wrestlers. It smiles when transmitting electricity.
It conceals itself in the mud of the seashore. Then it waits. When prey touch it, it delivers a jolt of electricity.
When its opponent can’t be paralyzed, it contorts itself with unexpected speed and flops away.
Thanks to bacteria that lived in the mud flats with it, this Pokémon developed the organs it uses to generate electricity.
For some reason, this Pokémon smiles slightly when it emits a strong electric current from the yellow markings on its body.

Galarian Stunfisk Biology and Behavior
Galarian Stunfisk adapted to iron-rich Galarian mud, losing the electrical abilities of the Unovan form while developing much stronger steel-like fins. It lies buried with only its red-and-white mouth visible, making the mouth resemble a Poké Ball and using that appearance as bait. When prey approaches, the reinforced fins snap shut like a bear trap and hold the victim in place. The form's unique Snap Trap attack and Mimicry ability both reinforce its specialization as an ambush predator shaped by its local environment.

Galarian Stunfisk Size Comparison: BETA
Galarian Stunfisk is listed at 2' 4" (0.7 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
