Using Alcremie in a Playthrough
Milcery evolves into Alcremie through one of the series' most unusual methods: it must hold a Sweet while the player spins, and the direction, duration, and time of the spin determine which cream appearance is produced. There are nine cream forms and seven possible Sweets, producing 63 regular visual combinations, but all of them have identical base stats, typing, Abilities, and battle performance, so the choice can be made entirely on aesthetics. Alcremie is a slow special Fairy-type with base 110 Special Attack and 121 Special Defense, making it naturally good at absorbing special hits while threatening Dragon-, Fighting-, and Dark-type opponents. Sweet Veil prevents Alcremie and its allies from falling asleep, while Aroma Veil protects the user and allies from several disruptive mental effects such as Taunt, Encore, Disable, Torment, and Attract, making either Ability genuinely useful depending on the opponent. Recover, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Mystical Fire, Calm Mind, and Acid Armor allow Alcremie to become an unusually durable setup Pokémon rather than a simple special attacker. Its pure Fairy typing grants a Dragon immunity and resistances to Bug, Dark, and Fighting while leaving only Poison and Steel weaknesses, though base 75 Defense means strong physical neutral hits still deserve respect. Gigantamax Alcremie can use G-Max Finale in Sword/Shield, dealing Fairy damage while healing the user's side, and all 63 ordinary visual combinations share the same Gigantamax form; Bold or Calm are excellent defensive Natures, while Modest supports more immediate special offense.
Alcremie in Competitive Pokémon
Alcremie has never been a high-usage OU-style Pokémon, but it developed a much stronger lower-tier reputation than its appearance might suggest. In Sword/Shield ZU, Smogon described Alcremie as the tier's premier defensive setup sweeper, using Calm Mind, Recover, Dazzling Gleam or Draining Kiss, Mystical Fire, Acid Armor, and excellent base 121 Special Defense to outlast teams that could not immediately pressure its physical side. Aroma Veil was especially useful because it prevented Taunt and several other disruption effects that normally shut down slow setup Pokémon, while Sweet Veil offered team-wide sleep protection in matchups where that mattered more. Its low base 64 Speed and only base 75 Defense kept physical Steel- and Poison-types dangerous, and dedicated phazing, powerful physical attackers, or strong neutral wallbreakers could stop it before enough boosts accumulated. Scarlet/Violet currently classifies Alcremie as ZUBL, with PU analysis built around Calm Mind plus Acid Armor, Draining Kiss, and Recover; the combination can become extremely difficult to break once both defenses and Special Attack have been boosted. The nine cream flavors and seven Sweet decorations are purely aesthetic and have no competitive distinction, so there is no legitimate reason to assign separate tiers or movesets to the 63 visual combinations. Gigantamax Alcremie had niche value in Dynamax-enabled environments because G-Max Finale healed allies while attacking, but standard Smogon singles did not permit Gigantamax and its conventional competitive identity remains defensive setup.
Alcremie in Nuzlockes
Alcremie can be a very safe Nuzlocke Pokémon once evolved because pure Fairy typing, excellent Special Defense, reliable recovery, and useful defensive Abilities all reduce different kinds of battle variance. Sweet Veil is especially valuable against sleep strategies because Alcremie and its allies cannot be put to sleep while the Ability is active, while Aroma Veil can block disruptive effects such as Taunt, Encore, and Disable that might otherwise trap the player in a dangerous line of play. Recover provides predictable healing and Draining Kiss combines accurate damage with substantial HP restoration, making Alcremie less dependent on consumable items over long routes. Calm Mind is safest against known special attackers because it increases both damage and Special Defense, while Acid Armor can patch the weaker physical side against controlled physical matchups. The danger is allowing setup to become greedy: critical hits bypass defensive stat boosts, and strong Steel or Poison attacks can overwhelm Alcremie before its healing matters. Milcery's evolution requires the correct held Sweet and the spin action rather than a normal level threshold, so the player must actually possess the evolution item instead of simply waiting for experience to solve the problem. The 63 Alcremie appearances are mechanically identical, so Nuzlocke survival does not depend on selecting a particular cream or decoration.

Alcremie Biology and Behavior
Alcremie continuously produces cream from its hands, and the cream becomes richer and sweeter when the Pokémon is happy. The flavor is considered exquisite enough that pastry chefs actively seek Alcremie as partners, and food made with its cream is associated with happiness in those who eat it. When attacked, Alcremie throws sweet-smelling cream at the opponent to blind, distract, or soothe it until the target loses the will to continue fighting. Its nine major cream colors and seven possible Sweet decorations are produced by conditions during evolution, but canon explicitly treats those variations as purely aesthetic rather than separate biological subspecies. The species' relationship with human cooking is therefore unusually direct: its naturally produced body material is both a defensive secretion and a prized culinary ingredient.

Alcremie Size Comparison: BETA
Alcremie is listed at 1' 0" (0.3 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
