Using Frillish Male in a Playthrough
Frillish evolves into Jellicent at level 40, producing a Water/Ghost Pokemon with base 100 HP, 105 Special Defense, and 85 Special Attack. Surf or Scald, Shadow Ball or Hex, Recover, Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Trick Room, and later Strength Sap in some formats give Jellicent both excellent defensive utility and enough offense to avoid being completely passive. Water Absorb grants a full Water immunity and restores one-quarter of maximum HP when hit by a Water move, Cursed Body has a chance to disable a move that strikes Jellicent, and Damp prevents Explosion and Self-Destruct effects while Jellicent is active. Water/Ghost also gives natural Normal and Fighting immunities plus useful resistances to Fire, Water, Ice, Bug, Poison, and Steel. Dark, Ghost, Electric, and Grass are the main weaknesses, while base 60 Speed is low enough to support Trick Room without being completely unusable outside it. Bold or Calm are excellent defensive natures, while Quiet can support a slower offensive Trick Room set.
Frillish Male in Competitive Pokémon
Jellicent was a genuine BW OU staple and one of the generation's premier spinblockers. Water/Ghost typing, 100 HP, 105 Special Defense, Water Absorb, Recover, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, and Scald let it simultaneously check rain teams, block Rapid Spin from several important hazard removers, and disrupt defensive cores. Smogon describes it as one of BW OU's best answers to rain offense and one of the only consistently good Ghost-type spinblockers in the tier. Its Normal and Fighting immunities also made it especially useful against common Fighting-types, while Taunt plus recovery prevented many slower walls from simply healing or setting hazards in front of it. Jellicent later lost some of its unique importance as Defog became more central to hazard removal, but it retained useful lower-tier and doubles niches through Water immunity, recovery, burns, and Trick Room. Its major weaknesses are status, Electric and Grass coverage, and only moderate physical Defense before burn support.
Frillish Male in Nuzlockes
Jellicent is exceptionally safe in planned Nuzlocke matchups because it naturally ignores Normal and Fighting attacks, and Water Absorb can add a third complete immunity while healing it. Recover gives reliable long-term sustain, while Will-O-Wisp can sharply reduce the threat of physical attackers if it lands. Cursed Body can unexpectedly disable a dangerous move, but the effect is random and should be treated as a bonus rather than part of the core plan. Dark, Ghost, Electric, and Grass attacks are the major threats, and Jellicent's physical Defense is only base 70, so strong physical super-effective moves remain dangerous despite the high HP. Bold or Calm Jellicent is best used as an immunity pivot and controlled wall rather than a Pokemon expected to absorb every neutral attack indefinitely.

Legend has it that the residents of a sunken ancient city changed into these Pokémon.

Frillish Male Biology and Behavior
Frillish lives in extremely deep ocean water, with dens roughly five miles below the surface where pressure and darkness are intense. It drifts quietly until prey approaches, then wraps the victim in veil-like limbs lined with tens of thousands of nearly invisible poisonous stingers. The poison numbs or paralyzes the prey, allowing Frillish to drag it down toward its deep-sea den. The species shows obvious sexual dimorphism: males are blue and females pink, and female Frillish are described as having slightly longer poisonous stingers.

Frillish Male Size Comparison: BETA
Frillish Male is listed at 3' 11" (1.2 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
