Graveler Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Graveler in a Playthrough
The Geodude line is an extremely physically durable Rock/Ground line with strong early-game matchups but several severe defensive weaknesses. Geodude and Graveler can use moves such as Magnitude, Rock Throw, Rock Slide, and Earthquake to threaten Normal-, Flying-, Fire-, Electric-, Poison-, and Rock-type opponents while their enormous Defense lets them shrug off many physical attacks. Water and Grass attacks are both quadruple super effective against the standard forms, and poor Special Defense means these matchups are particularly dangerous; Golem also traditionally requires trading, leaving Graveler as the practical final stage when trades are unavailable. The Alolan forms replace Ground with Electric, gaining Electric STAB and abilities such as Galvanize but losing the Electric immunity and acquiring a quadruple Ground weakness.
Graveler in Competitive Pokémon
Standard Golem has historically functioned as a physically powerful Stealth Rock setter, emergency check, and offensive tank, with Sturdy often guaranteeing that it can survive at least one otherwise lethal hit from full health under modern mechanics. Strong Rock/Ground STAB, Explosion, and high Attack give it more offensive presence than many dedicated hazard setters, although very low Speed and severe Water and Grass weaknesses constrain it. Alolan Golem occupies a different niche as a Rock/Electric wallbreaker, with Magnet Pull allowing certain sets to trap Steel-types and Galvanize converting Normal-type attacks into strengthened Electric attacks. Both forms are specialized rather than universally safe, but each has developed a distinct competitive identity from its typing and abilities.
Graveler in Nuzlockes
The Geodude line can be exceptionally valuable in Nuzlockes because its huge physical Defense and early availability allow it to neutralize many Normal-, Flying-, Poison-, Rock-, and Electric opponents with very little risk. FireRed and LeafGreen community analysis rates Graveler strongly and Golem even higher when trade evolution is available, citing excellent early performance, the Lt. Surge matchup, resistance to many common physical attacks, and the ability to survive dangerous Self-Destruct users more comfortably than most teammates. Its weakness profile is unusually polarized, however: Water and Grass attacks can kill standard Graveler or Golem extremely quickly, while their poor Speed means they may not get an opportunity to escape a mistaken matchup. Alolan forms retain excellent physical bulk but require equally careful planning around their quadruple Ground weakness.

Graveler Biology and Behavior
Graveler prefers rolling to walking and can descend mountain paths at speeds exceeding sixty miles per hour, smashing through obstacles rather than avoiding them. It is unconcerned when portions of its rocky body break off because the damage regenerates over time. Graveler feeds heavily on rocks, particularly moss-covered stones, and may consume enormous quantities while climbing from the base of a mountain toward the summit before rolling back down. It excavates horizontal holes in sheer cliff faces for shelter and can tolerate volcanic temperatures.

Graveler Size Comparison: BETA
Graveler is listed at 3' 3" (1.0 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
