Lechonk Lechonk Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Lechonk in a Playthrough
Lechonk appears extremely early in Scarlet and Violet and evolves into Oinkologne at level 18, making this one of the easiest Paldean families to obtain and fully evolve during a normal run. Oinkologne is a mono-Normal Pokémon with only one direct type weakness, Fighting, plus a valuable Ghost immunity, but its base 65 Speed means it usually takes hits before moving and its overall offensive ceiling is modest compared with stronger late-game attackers. The two sexes are mechanically distinct: male Oinkologne has 110 HP, 100 Attack, 75 Defense, and 80 Special Defense, while female Oinkologne shifts some of that physical power into durability with 115 HP, 90 Attack, 70 Defense, and 90 Special Defense. Their regular Ability pools also differ, with male Oinkologne able to use Lingering Aroma and female Oinkologne Aroma Veil; both can have Gluttony and share Thick Fat as a Hidden Ability, the latter effectively improving matchups into Fire- and Ice-type attacks. Its move progression gives it practical story tools such as Dig, Headbutt, Yawn, Body Slam through TM access, Double-Edge later by level, and coverage including Seed Bomb, Stomping Tantrum, Iron Head, and Play Rough, although it lacks the raw stats or STAB variety to dominate difficult battles. Adamant can improve the male form's stronger physical offense, while Impish, Careful, or other bulk-oriented Natures are reasonable when the goal is to exploit Oinkologne's HP and simple defensive profile rather than race faster attackers.
Lechonk in Competitive Pokémon
Oinkologne's competitive record has been much more modest than the flashier Paldean newcomers, and Smogon's current Scarlet/Violet Pokédex places the species in ZU without a standard recommended moveset. Male Oinkologne has the more offensive stat spread and access to Lingering Aroma, an unusual contact-triggered Ability that replaces the attacker's Ability with Lingering Aroma until it leaves the field; this can interfere with contact attackers that depend heavily on abilities, but it is reactive and does not compensate for Oinkologne's low Speed or limited pressure. Female Oinkologne sacrifices 10 points of Attack and 5 Defense for higher HP and Special Defense and can use Aroma Veil instead, giving the two forms genuinely different defensive profiles even though neither has become a major singles staple. Thick Fat is often the most broadly useful ability when the goal is simple durability, while Yawn, Body Slam, Rest, and coverage moves can support bulky or disruptive sets. The fundamental problems are that mono-Normal STAB is easy to prepare for, base 65 Speed leaves Oinkologne exposed to faster offensive Pokémon, and its 489 BST is distributed toward bulk without providing reliable instant recovery or enough damage to force progress consistently. As a result, Oinkologne is best described as a low-tier bulky utility Pokémon with a few distinctive form-specific tools rather than an overlooked high-level wallbreaker; competitive analysis should not overstate Lingering Aroma simply because it is unique.
Lechonk in Nuzlockes
Lechonk is a useful Nuzlocke encounter largely because it is common, available almost immediately, and evolves at only level 18, so the player can obtain a reasonably bulky fully evolved Pokémon with very little risk or investment. Oinkologne's pure Normal typing is easy to understand defensively: it is immune to Ghost and has only Fighting as a type weakness, which can create predictable switch-in opportunities when enemy movesets are known. Its large HP stat gives it a better margin for surviving neutral attacks than many early-route Pokémon, and female Oinkologne is especially suited to taking special hits, while male Oinkologne trades some of that special bulk for higher physical damage. Lingering Aroma can occasionally make physical contact attackers safer by stripping an important Ability after they hit the male form, and Thick Fat is excellent insurance against unexpected Fire- or Ice-type coverage when the Hidden Ability is available. Yawn is a valuable low-risk control tool, and accurate attacks such as Body Slam or Dig are generally preferable to repeatedly leaning on Take Down or Double-Edge, whose recoil can turn otherwise safe victories into accumulated death risk. Oinkologne's chief Nuzlocke weakness is tempo: because it is slow and does not possess exceptional defenses or reliable one-turn recovery, it often has to absorb damage before acting, so it is a dependable early- and midgame body rather than a Pokémon that should be left in against every neutral matchup.

It searches for food all day. It possesses a keen sense of smell but doesn’t use it for anything other than foraging.
This Pokémon spurns all but the finest of foods. Its body gives off an herblike scent that bug Pokémon detest.

Lechonk Biology and Behavior
Lechonk is a stout hog-like Pokémon with an exceptionally developed sense of smell, which it uses to locate fragrant wild grasses and rich Berries. That diet causes its body to give off a herbal odor that repels Bug-type Pokémon, and it has also been observed feeding on the sweet nectar produced on Appletun's back. Although it looks plump, much of its mass is muscle developed by constantly walking in search of food. Lechonk is timid and faint-hearted, tending to panic and charge straight ahead when startled or attacked. Humans can take advantage of its nose to search for cooking ingredients, while animated depictions show that food carried by people can also draw an aggressive response from hungry individuals.

Lechonk Size Comparison: BETA
Lechonk is listed at 1' 8" (0.5 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
