Pecharunt Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Pecharunt in a Playthrough
Pecharunt is a standalone Poison/Ghost Mythical Pokémon encountered through the Mochi Mayhem epilogue after the player has progressed through the required Scarlet/Violet and Hidden Treasure of Area Zero content and obtained the Mythical Pecha Berry. The event item was distributed beginning in January 2024 without a normal fixed end date and remains claimable, allowing eligible players to trigger the epilogue and eventually receive a guaranteed level-88 Pecharunt at Loyalty Plaza. Its stat spread is highly unusual: every base stat is 88 except Defense, which is an enormous 160, making Pecharunt exceptionally sturdy against physical attacks but only moderately durable on the special side. Its signature Malignant Chain is a perfectly accurate 100-base-power Poison special attack with a 50% chance to badly poison the target, and Poison Puppeteer additionally confuses opponents that become poisoned or badly poisoned specifically because of one of Pecharunt's moves. Shadow Ball or Hex supplies Ghost STAB, with Hex becoming much stronger against statused targets, while Recover provides direct healing and Parting Shot can lower an opponent's Attack and Special Attack before safely bringing in a teammate. Nasty Plot offers offensive setup, while Foul Play can punish high-Attack physical opponents without depending on Pecharunt's own Attack stat. Poison/Ghost grants Normal and Fighting immunities plus useful resistances, but Dark, Ghost, Ground, and Psychic attacks remain important weaknesses and strong special moves can exploit the gap between base 160 Defense and base 88 Special Defense. Bold is excellent for maximizing its defining physical-wall role, while Calm can balance special durability and Timid can support faster offensive or pivot-oriented sets.
Pecharunt in Competitive Pokémon
Pecharunt remains OU in Scarlet/Violet and has established itself primarily as a physically defensive pivot and status-oriented disruptor rather than as a conventional Mythical wallbreaker. Base 160 Defense lets it check or annoy a wide range of physical attackers, while Recover gives reliable longevity and Parting Shot both reduces an opponent's Attack and Special Attack and preserves momentum for the rest of the team. Malignant Chain is central to its offensive pressure because the move is 100 base power, perfectly accurate, and has a 50% chance to badly poison; when that poison is caused by Pecharunt's move, Poison Puppeteer also confuses the target. That combination can create extremely punishing turns for physical attackers such as Zamazenta, Ogerpon-Wellspring, Dragonite, or Rillaboom, especially when Pecharunt uses Rocky Helmet, Heavy-Duty Boots, or Air Balloon to tailor its defensive role. Shadow Ball provides consistent Ghost damage, while Hex can capitalize on poison and Foul Play punishes targets whose own Attack is much higher than Pecharunt's. Its weaknesses prevent it from being an unconditional wall: strong special Ground, Psychic, Ghost, or Dark attacks can exploit base 88 Special Defense, and Steel- and Poison-type Pokémon cannot be poisoned by ordinary Poison effects. Poison Puppeteer also does not activate merely because Toxic Spikes poisoned an opponent, so successful competitive use depends on Pecharunt actually causing the poison with its own move rather than treating field hazards as automatic confusion support.
Pecharunt in Nuzlockes
Pecharunt can be an extremely safe late-game Nuzlocke Pokémon if Mythical encounters and the Mochi Mayhem epilogue are permitted, particularly because its story capture is guaranteed rather than dependent on a low catch rate. Base 160 Defense creates an enormous buffer against physical attacks, while Normal and Fighting immunities provide completely safe switches against known moves and Recover can erase accumulated damage without consuming a limited healing item. Malignant Chain is unusually reliable for a status-inflicting signature move because it is perfectly accurate while still carrying a 50% chance to badly poison, and Poison Puppeteer can add confusion when that status is successfully inflicted by Pecharunt itself. Confusion should nevertheless be treated only as bonus variance rather than a defensive plan, because the opponent can still act successfully and poison-immune Steel or Poison Pokémon bypass the interaction entirely. Parting Shot is excellent permadeath utility because it reduces both offensive stats before switching Pecharunt out, often making the incoming teammate substantially safer. Strong special Ground, Psychic, Ghost, or Dark attacks remain dangerous despite the enormous Defense stat, and a Nuzlocke player should not mistake physical invulnerability for overall bulk. Memento causes the user to faint and is normally incompatible with conventional Nuzlocke rules, so Recover, Parting Shot, Malignant Chain, and reliable Ghost damage are much more appropriate survival-focused tools.

Pecharunt Biology and Behavior
Pecharunt is a small Mythical Pokémon that normally hides inside a peach-shaped poisonous shell, where it stores and ferments toxins that can be formed into mochi and long purple chains. Its Binding Mochi draws out the deepest desires of whoever eats it, strengthening or transforming the victim while also allowing Pecharunt to bind that individual to its will through toxic chains; it can control many affected humans or Pokémon at the same time. Long ago, an elderly childless couple cared for Pecharunt, and it used its mochi to make them increasingly attached to it; their growing desires eventually led Pecharunt to seek Ogerpon's treasured masks and recruit Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti by granting each one's wish. Ogerpon defeated Pecharunt during that conflict, after which it remained dormant for centuries and became known in Kitakami as the Never-Rotting Peach before awakening again during Mochi Mayhem. Despite its capacity for manipulation, Pecharunt is portrayed as cowardly and dependent on others to fight for it, and it may feign helplessness or cry like a baby to gain sympathy. Its pleasant sweet scent and innocuous peach-like shell therefore function as part of a deceptive survival strategy built around controlling stronger companions rather than confronting danger directly.

Pecharunt Size Comparison: BETA
Pecharunt is listed at 1' 0" (0.3 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
