Dachsbun Dachsbun Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Dachsbun in a Playthrough
Fidough is available very early in Scarlet and Violet and evolves into Dachsbun at level 26, so the line can contribute for most of the game without requiring a special evolution method. Dachsbun's pure Fairy typing supplies a Dragon immunity and useful resistances to Fighting, Dark, and Bug while leaving only Poison and Steel as weaknesses, and its 115 Defense and 95 Speed make it unusually good at taking physical hits without being painfully slow. Well-Baked Body is the standout Ability: Fire-type attacks do no damage and instead raise Dachsbun's Defense by two stages, turning a normally neutral attack type into both an immunity and a potential setup opportunity. Its base 80 Attack is merely adequate, so it relies more on dependable Fairy STAB such as Play Rough, utility, and moves such as Body Press that can exploit its high Defense than on overwhelming raw damage. The low base 57 HP and only average special bulk keep it from functioning as a universal wall, especially against strong special attackers. Aroma Veil is useful against certain disruptive effects but is generally less transformative in a normal story than Well-Baked Body. Impish suits a physically defensive or Body Press-oriented role, while Jolly or Adamant can be reasonable when using Dachsbun primarily as a conventional physical attacker.
Dachsbun in Competitive Pokémon
Dachsbun currently sits in SV ZU on Smogon, reflecting that its attractive defensive profile has not translated into broad high-tier viability. Its main competitive selling point is Well-Baked Body, which combines a Fire immunity with a two-stage Defense boost, while Fairy typing independently grants a Dragon immunity and several useful resistances. With base 115 Defense and 95 Speed, Dachsbun can function as a relatively fast physical wall, use Body Press to turn Defense into pressure, and employ support options such as Wish, Roar, Yawn, or other disruption depending on the format. That package can make it a useful answer to very specific physical attackers and Fire-dependent threats, and it has enough utility to appear as a niche defensive selection in draft formats. Its limitations are equally clear: base 57 HP reduces its effective bulk and the size of Wishes it passes, base 80 Attack provides limited direct pressure, and its special durability is far less imposing than its Defense statistic suggests. It therefore succeeds by exploiting favorable immunities and matchups rather than by walling an entire metagame. Impish is the most natural Nature for Body Press and physical-wall sets, with Careful sometimes useful when a team needs additional special resilience.
Dachsbun in Nuzlockes
Dachsbun is a strong Nuzlocke Pokémon because it is obtainable early, evolves at a straightforward level 26, and gains a defensive profile that creates numerous safe-switch opportunities. Pure Fairy leaves only Poison and Steel weaknesses, while Well-Baked Body adds a complete Fire immunity and can sharply increase Defense if an opponent uses a Fire move, making predicted switches especially rewarding. Its base 115 Defense is excellent for surviving physical attacks, but the line's low HP means that players should not treat it as equally safe against strong special moves or repeated neutral damage. Play Rough supplies important STAB but its imperfect accuracy adds some risk in situations where a miss could be fatal; Body Press is perfectly accurate and can exploit Dachsbun's strongest stat, though it lacks STAB. The Dragon immunity can completely blank certain attacks and is particularly valuable in known boss battles, while Fighting and Dark resistances create additional pivot opportunities. Avoid overestimating a Well-Baked Body Defense boost against mixed attackers: it does nothing to strengthen Special Defense. Used as a matchup-based physical wall rather than a catch-all tank, Dachsbun offers very good survival value for a permadeath run.

Dachsbun Biology and Behavior
Dachsbun is a stout, elongated canine whose brown body, bread-roll-like ears and neck folds, braided back, and flattened circular tail resemble baked breads and pastries. Its body gives off a pleasant, appetizing aroma that is said to help wheat grow, causing farming villages to treasure Dachsbun historically. Exposure to intense heat hardens the surface of its skin, a biological trait represented in battle by Well-Baked Body. More recent Legends: Z-A Pokédex information adds that Dachsbun's scent can drive an opponent's hunger into overdrive until its willpower and stamina are worn down.

Dachsbun Size Comparison: BETA
Dachsbun is listed at 1' 8" (0.5 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
