Gardevoir Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Gardevoir in a Playthrough
The Ralts family begins with an extremely frail early-stage Psychic Pokemon but eventually offers two powerful final evolutions with opposite offensive specialties. Ralts evolves into Kirlia at level 20 and then into Gardevoir at level 30; beginning in Generation IV, a male Kirlia can instead use a Dawn Stone to become Gallade. Gardevoir specializes in base 125 Special Attack and 115 Special Defense, while Gallade reverses the attacking stats with base 125 Attack and the same 115 Special Defense, giving the player a genuine choice between special Psychic/Fairy offense and physical Psychic/Fighting offense in modern games. Generation VI adds Fairy typing to Ralts, Kirlia, and Gardevoir, dramatically improving Gardevoir's matchup against Dark-, Fighting-, and Dragon-type opponents, while Gallade retains Psychic/Fighting and later gains Sharpness in Generation IX to strengthen slicing moves such as Psycho Cut, Sacred Sword, and Leaf Blade. Mega Gardevoir becomes an enormous special wallbreaker through base 165 Special Attack and Pixilate, while Mega Gallade reaches base 165 Attack and 110 Speed, making both branches extremely powerful when their Mega Stones are available.
Gardevoir in Competitive Pokémon
The Ralts family has produced two very different competitive final evolutions. Gardevoir has repeatedly found lower- and mid-tier niches through base 125 Special Attack, Trace, Choice Scarf or Choice Specs, Healing Wish, Trick, and broad coverage, while its Generation VI Fairy typing gave it far better offensive pressure against Dark- and Dragon-types. Mega Gardevoir became an important XY/ORAS wallbreaker through base 165 Special Attack and Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voice, which combines enormous power with the ability to hit through Substitute and, in doubles, strike both opposing Pokemon. Gallade instead functions as a physical wallbreaker or setup sweeper through base 125 Attack, Swords Dance, Fighting/Psychic STAB, and strong coverage; Mega Gallade raises Attack to 165 and Speed to 110, giving it the speed and power needed to threaten offensive and defensive teams alike. Generation IX's Sharpness gave standard Gallade a major modern upgrade by multiplying the power of slicing moves such as Sacred Sword, Psycho Cut, and Leaf Blade by 1.5, restoring a meaningful wallbreaking niche even without Mega Evolution. Both branches share mediocre physical bulk, so their strong special defenses and offensive pressure do not make them safe against powerful physical revenge killers.
Gardevoir in Nuzlockes
Ralts is a high-upside but initially dangerous Nuzlocke encounter because its early 28/25/35 defensive profile leaves almost no room for careless training before it evolves. Kirlia remains fragile, but reaching Gardevoir at level 30 creates a major increase in special offense and special bulk, while modern Fairy typing supplies a Dragon immunity and valuable Fighting and Dark resistances. Gallade is available only from a male Kirlia and requires a Dawn Stone, but its base 125 Attack, strong Fighting coverage, and 115 Special Defense can make it an excellent physical specialist if the item is accessible. Trace can create unusually safe or unusually dangerous matchups depending on which opposing Ability is copied, while Synchronize can punish certain status users but does not prevent the original status from affecting the Ralts-family Pokemon. Both final forms remain physically vulnerable, so the safest use is to exploit known resistances, strong offenses, and favorable speed matchups rather than relying on their impressive Special Defense as though it applied equally to physical attacks.

Gardevoir Biology and Behavior
Gardevoir is a profoundly protective psychic Pokemon capable of seeing the future and reacting to danger before it reaches a Trainer with whom it has formed a strong bond. Its telekinetic power is strong enough to support its own body without relying on gravity, distort dimensions, and even create a small black hole when defending someone it trusts. That protective instinct can override self-preservation entirely: multiple Pokedex traditions state that Gardevoir will risk or sacrifice its own life to save its Trainer. The species may even sleep upright so that it can respond immediately if a nearby person or Pokemon needs protection. In Mega Gardevoir, the red plate on its chest opens; the structure is described as a physical manifestation of its heart, and opening it allows the Pokemon to release its psychic power at a far greater level.

Gardevoir Size Comparison: BETA
Gardevoir is listed at 5' 3" (1.6 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
