Gogoat Gogoat Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Gogoat in a Playthrough
Skiddo evolves into Gogoat at level 32, producing a bulky pure Grass Pokemon with base 123 HP, 100 Attack, 97 Special Attack, and 81 Special Defense. Horn Leech is the defining physical STAB because it restores half the damage dealt, while Milk Drink provides reliable direct recovery; Bulk Up, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Brick Break, Leaf Blade, and special Grass options give Gogoat several workable directions. Sap Sipper is usually the best ordinary ability because it grants a complete Grass immunity and raises Attack by one stage whenever Gogoat is hit by a Grass move. The Hidden Ability Grass Pelt raises Defense by 50 percent while Grassy Terrain is active, creating a more specialized terrain-dependent defensive role. Pure Grass resists Water, Electric, Grass, and Ground but is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. Adamant or Careful are good general natures, while Impish can support Bulk Up and recovery-oriented play.
Gogoat in Competitive Pokémon
Gogoat has historically lived in lower tiers, but it possesses a coherent niche rather than being purely outclassed. In XY lower-tier play, Bulk Up, Horn Leech, Milk Drink, and its large base 123 HP let it become a durable setup sweeper against passive teams, while Sap Sipper created a valuable Grass immunity and free Attack boosts. Smogon analyses also note the problem that has followed Gogoat through later generations: its coverage cannot hit every relevant Poison-, Flying-, Bug-, and Steel-type answer at once, creating severe four-moveslot pressure. Grass Pelt offers another route on Grassy Terrain teams by reinforcing its mediocre physical Defense, but the terrain requirement makes it less generally reliable than Sap Sipper. Gogoat is therefore best understood as a bulky lower-tier setup attacker whose recovery and HP are genuinely good, but whose typing and coverage prevent widespread upper-tier use.
Gogoat in Nuzlockes
Gogoat is very Nuzlocke-friendly because Horn Leech and Milk Drink give it two separate forms of dependable healing, while base 123 HP provides a large buffer against neutral damage. Sap Sipper is especially useful because a predicted Grass move becomes a completely free switch and an Attack boost. The main problem is the number of common weaknesses: Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug attacks all hit super effectively, so Gogoat should not be treated as a universal tank. Bulk Up can make physical matchups much safer when used against an opponent that cannot threaten super-effective coverage. Adamant increases healing indirectly by increasing Horn Leech damage, while Careful or Impish can create a larger defensive margin.

It can tell how its Trainer is feeling by subtle shifts in the grip on its horns. This empathic sense lets them run as if one being.
They inhabit mountainous regions. The leader of the herd is decided by a battle of clashing horns.

Gogoat Biology and Behavior
Gogoat has lived alongside humans for at least 5,000 years and is widely used as a riding Pokemon. By sensing subtle changes in how a rider grips its horns, it can read that person's emotions and intentions so accurately that Pokemon and rider can move almost like a single being. Wild Gogoat form mountain herds in which leadership is decided through horn-to-horn battles. In Lumiose City, domesticated Gogoat historically supported public transportation through the Gogoat Shuttle.

Gogoat Size Comparison: BETA
Gogoat is listed at 5' 7" (1.7 m); this chart uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
Gogoat currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
