Litten Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage

Using Litten in a Playthrough

Litten evolves into Torracat at level 17 and Incineroar at level 34. Incineroar is Fire/Dark with base 115 Attack, 95 HP, 90 Defense, 90 Special Defense, and only 60 Speed, making it a slow but powerful physical attacker and pivot. Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Knock Off, U-turn or Parting Shot depending on generation, Fake Out, Drain Punch or Close Combat, Earthquake, Will-O-Wisp, and Bulk Up give it both offensive and support options. Blaze strengthens Fire moves at low HP, while the Hidden Ability Intimidate lowers opposing Attack on entry and is usually the most valuable ability by a wide margin. Fire/Dark grants a Psychic immunity and resistances to Fire, Grass, Ice, Ghost, Dark, and Steel, but Water, Fighting, Ground, and Rock are super effective. Adamant is excellent for straightforward play, Careful or Impish fit bulkier sets, and Brave is useful under Trick Room.

Litten in Competitive Pokémon

Incineroar has one of the most important doubles resumes of any starter Pokemon. Intimidate, Fake Out, Knock Off, U-turn or Parting Shot, Snarl, solid 95/90/90 bulk, and useful Fire/Dark resistances allow it to control board position while repeatedly reducing incoming damage for its team. It became a cornerstone of VGC and other doubles formats because almost every team appreciates some combination of Intimidate, Fake Out disruption, item removal, and safe pivoting. In Generation VII singles it was only NU by usage, but Smogon still regarded it as a flexible wallbreaker and defensive pivot whose base 115 Attack and broad coverage were genuinely threatening. Its low base 60 Speed, Stealth Rock weakness, Flare Blitz recoil, and lack of dependable instant recovery keep it from being equally dominant in singles. Competitive Incineroar is therefore a rare case where its doubles legacy is substantially greater than its singles tier history.

Litten in Nuzlockes

Incineroar is one of the safer physical starters in a Nuzlocke because Intimidate effectively improves the entire team's physical durability every time it enters battle. Its own 95/90/90 bulk is solid, and the Psychic immunity creates a completely safe switch against known Psychic moves. Flare Blitz is extremely strong but recoil can accumulate quickly, so a lower-power Fire option may be preferable when it still secures the knockout. Water, Fighting, Ground, and Rock attacks are the main dangers, and the low Speed means Incineroar commonly takes damage before acting. Fake Out, U-turn, and later Parting Shot can all reduce risk by creating controlled turns rather than forcing Incineroar to remain exposed.

Sun

While grooming itself, it builds up fur inside its stomach. It sets the fur alight and spews fiery attacks, which change based on how it coughs.

Moon

It doesn’t allow its emotions to be easily seen. Earning its trust takes time. It prefers solitude.

Ultra Sun

If you try too hard to get close to it, it won’t open up to you. Even if you do grow close, giving it too much affection is still a no-no.

Ultra Moon

Its coat regrows twice a year. When the time comes, Litten sets its own body on fire and burns away the old fur.

Sword

It spends even the smallest amount of downtime grooming its fur with its tongue. Loose fur gathers in its stomach and serves as fuel for fiery moves.

Shield

Trying to pet Litten before it trusts you will result in a nasty scratch from its sharp claws. Be careful.

Litten Biology and Behavior

Litten is a solitary cat Pokemon that rarely displays its emotions openly and may scratch people who try to pet it before earning its trust. While grooming, it swallows large amounts of loose fur and stores that material inside its body. It later ignites the accumulated fur and coughs it out as fireballs, with different coughing patterns producing different flame attacks. Regular grooming is therefore directly tied to both its cleanliness and its fire-producing biology.

How is visual size determined?

Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.

For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.

The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.

Litten currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
