Pikipek Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage

Using Pikipek in a Playthrough

Pikipek evolves into Trumbeak at level 14 and Toucannon at level 28, making the line fully evolved unusually early for a regional bird. Toucannon is Normal/Flying with base 120 Attack, 80 HP, 75/75 defenses, and only 60 Speed. Brave Bird and Beak Blast provide strong Flying STAB, while Boomburst, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, Knock Off, Brick Break, Overheat, U-turn, and other coverage let it attack from both sides despite the physical bias. Skill Link guarantees the maximum number of hits from multi-hit moves, turning Bullet Seed into a reliable 125-base-power coverage attack and similarly strengthening Rock Blast; Keen Eye prevents accuracy reduction, while the Hidden Ability Sheer Force boosts moves with secondary effects by 30 percent while removing those effects. Beak Blast is particularly distinctive because Toucannon heats its beak before firing, burning an opponent that makes contact during the charging phase. Normal/Flying grants Ghost and Ground immunities but is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock. Adamant or Brave work well for physical sets, while Rash or Quiet can support mixed offense.

Pikipek in Competitive Pokémon

Toucannon has remained a lower-tier Pokemon, but its wallbreaking niche is real. Base 120 Attack makes Brave Bird immediately dangerous, while Skill Link turns Bullet Seed into reliable high-power Grass coverage that can break Rock- and Water-types that would otherwise handle Flying STAB. Its usable base 75 Special Attack also supports Boomburst and Overheat, allowing mixed sets to punish physical walls and Steel-types. Smogon's Sun and Moon analyses describe Toucannon as a strong PU or ZU wallbreaker but emphasize its poor base 60 Speed, merely average bulk, Stealth Rock weakness, and recoil from Brave Bird or Life Orb. Beak Blast can punish contact attackers with burn, but its negative priority means Toucannon must survive the incoming hit first. It is best viewed as a slow breaker with excellent coverage rather than a conventional fast regional bird.

Pikipek in Nuzlockes

Toucannon is useful in Nuzlockes because it reaches its final form at level 28 and has base 120 Attack much earlier than many comparable physical attackers. Ground and Ghost immunities create safe switch opportunities, while Skill Link makes Bullet Seed and Rock Blast fully reliable in hit count rather than leaving damage to chance. Brave Bird is extremely strong but recoil can accumulate quickly, so Drill Peck or other safer Flying moves are preferable when they already secure a knockout. Electric, Ice, and Rock attacks are the main dangers, and Stealth Rock can wear Toucannon down before it acts. Beak Blast can burn contact attackers before their move lands, which is valuable defensive utility if Toucannon can safely absorb the hit.

Pikipek Biology and Behavior

Pikipek has unusually powerful neck muscles and can strike wood as many as sixteen times per second without injuring itself. It drills holes in trees for nests, food storage, and collections of small shiny objects, while the rhythm of its pecking also functions as communication with other Pikipek. It eats Berries and can spit the leftover seeds with enough force to embed them in tree trunks. Talonflame is a known predator, while Pikipek itself preys on small Bug Pokemon such as Metapod.

How is visual size determined?

Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.

For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.

The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.

Pikipek currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
