Tsareena's Weaknesses and Resistances

Evolution Chain

Bounsweet evolves into Steenee at level 18, and Steenee evolves into Tsareena by leveling up knowing Stomp.

Tsareena Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage

Using Tsareena in a Playthrough

Bounsweet evolves into Steenee at level 18, then becomes Tsareena after leveling up while knowing Stomp, making the line's final evolution dependent more on understanding the move requirement than on reaching an unusually high level. Tsareena is a physical Grass-type attacker with base 120 Attack and balanced base 98 Defense and Special Defense, allowing it to hit hard without being as fragile as many offensive Grass-types. Queenly Majesty is usually its most valuable Ability because it prevents opposing priority moves from striking Tsareena or its allies, protecting it from moves such as Quick Attack, Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch, and Sucker Punch and becoming particularly useful in doubles. Trop Kick is a distinctive playthrough move because it combines accurate Grass-type damage with a guaranteed Attack reduction, while stronger options such as Power Whip trade reliability for raw power; High Jump Kick offers valuable Fighting coverage but its crash damage creates an unnecessary risk when safer coverage is sufficient. Rapid Spin gives Tsareena useful field support in games where entry hazards matter, and from Generation VIII onward Rapid Spin also raises the user's Speed, making the move more valuable than it was at Tsareena's debut. Adamant suits maximum physical damage, while Jolly is equally legitimate when preserving Speed against nearby benchmarks is more important.

Tsareena in Competitive Pokémon

Tsareena has maintained a consistent lower-tier competitive niche because it combines real physical power with utility that most offensive Grass-types do not provide. It was an RU Pokémon in Generation VII, where base 120 Attack, Power Whip, Knock Off, High Jump Kick, Rapid Spin, Synthesis, and Queenly Majesty allowed it to function as both a wallbreaker and an offensive hazard remover. Queenly Majesty was especially useful against revenge-killing priority, while Knock Off punished Ghost-types trying to block Rapid Spin and Synthesis could keep Tsareena healthy enough to remove hazards repeatedly. Sword and Shield placed Tsareena in NU, but Rapid Spin's Generation VIII buff to 50 base power and a +1 Speed boost made successful spinning substantially more rewarding; Queenly Majesty also gave Tsareena a meaningful doubles niche by protecting partners from Fake Out and priority such as Grassy Glide. Scarlet and Violet currently keep Tsareena in NU, where it remains an offensive spinner and pivot with strong Grass STAB and coverage but competes against faster Grass-types and struggles with common Fire-, Flying-, Ice-, Poison-, and Bug-type pressure. Its historical reputation is therefore one of dependable role compression rather than dominance: Tsareena attacks, removes hazards, blocks priority, and can pivot or recover, but middling base 72 Speed and pure Grass typing prevent those tools from carrying it into the highest singles tiers.

Tsareena in Nuzlockes

Tsareena is a strong Nuzlocke Pokémon because it combines respectable bulk, high Attack, recovery or utility options, and an Ability that directly removes one common source of surprise deaths. Queenly Majesty blocks opposing priority directed at Tsareena or its allies, preventing a weakened Pokémon from being unexpectedly finished by moves such as Sucker Punch, Aqua Jet, or Bullet Punch when the player would otherwise expect to move first. Trop Kick is particularly safe because it is accurate and always lowers the target's Attack, allowing Tsareena to weaken physical opponents while still dealing damage instead of spending a separate turn on setup. The line's evolution is reasonably accessible, but the player must remember that Steenee evolves only after leveling while it knows Stomp; overlooking or replacing the move can delay Tsareena unnecessarily. Power Whip and High Jump Kick are competitively powerful but introduce accuracy or crash-damage risks that may not be justified in a permadeath run when Trop Kick, Seed Bomb, Low Kick, or other safer options can secure the required result. Tsareena's five weaknesses still demand caution, especially against faster Fire-, Flying-, Ice-, Poison-, and Bug-type attackers, because base 72 Speed does not reliably let it escape poor matchups before being hit.

Tsareena Biology and Behavior

Tsareena is a powerful, aggressive Pokémon whose fighting style centers on highly refined kicks and graceful movements, and it is known to laugh or cackle as its attacks connect. It may continue kicking or stepping on a defeated opponent, giving the species a notably domineering battle temperament. Only particularly capable Steenee are described as reaching this stage, and Tsareena uses its strength to protect Bounsweet and Steenee. Its crown-like growth is an unusual vulnerability: touching it can immediately calm Tsareena and leave it defenseless. Tsareena may ignore or resent commands it considers improper, even from its own Trainer, while its sweet fragrance can distract opponents during combat. Its highly developed kicking style has also produced a documented rivalry with Quaquaval.

How is visual size determined?

Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.

For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.

The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.

Tsareena currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
