Ribombee Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Ribombee in a Playthrough
Cutiefly is obtainable very early in Alola and evolves into Ribombee at level 25, giving the line a favorable combination of early availability and a reasonably timed final evolution. The line is built around Speed rather than durability: Cutiefly is already quick, and Ribombee's base 124 Speed is exceptional for an ordinary story Pokémon, letting it move first against a large portion of in-game opponents. Bug/Fairy provides a Dragon immunity, a 4× Fighting resistance, and additional useful resistances, while Moonblast becomes the line's most dependable high-value STAB and Bug moves add secondary coverage; the tradeoff is weakness to Fire, Flying, Poison, Rock, and Steel. Ribombee's base 95 Special Attack is good rather than overwhelming, so its value comes from attacking first, exploiting super-effective matchups, and using its unusually broad support movepool rather than simply overpowering every neutral target. Quiver Dance can turn favorable matchups into sweeps, while Pollen Puff is particularly useful in doubles because it can damage enemies or heal an ally; Sticky Web, Stun Spore, Tailwind, and other support options vary by generation and can give Ribombee value even when raw damage is insufficient. Timid is the most consistently useful Nature when maximizing Ribombee's signature Speed matters, though Modest can be reasonable in ordinary play when the extra damage is more valuable than winning the narrowest Speed ties.
Ribombee in Competitive Pokémon
Ribombee has had a much better competitive career than its frail appearance suggests because base 124 Speed and an exceptional support movepool give it jobs that bulkier Bug-types cannot easily replicate. In Generation VII it was an RU Pokémon capable of acting as a very fast special attacker or Quiver Dance sweeper while also providing Sticky Web, Tailwind, or Defog, though mediocre base 95 Special Attack and very poor physical durability prevented it from becoming a premier conventional sweeper. Its hazard-setting identity became even more important in Generation VIII: despite a nominal PU tier placement, Smogon's UU analysis described Ribombee as a cornerstone of Sticky Web teams because its Speed, Shield Dust, offensive pressure, and access to tools such as Skill Swap let it establish Webs against many attempts to deny them. In Scarlet and Violet it currently sits in RU and continues to function as one of the game's fastest practical Sticky Web leads, using Moonblast, Stun Spore, Trick, or other disruption to make hazard removal difficult. Its utility is specialized enough that Ribombee has also received analyses in formats far above its usage tier, including Ubers, where a fast Focus Sash Sticky Web lead can be worthwhile even though Ribombee itself is obviously not an Ubers-level combatant by raw stats. Shield Dust is often the preferred singles Ability because blocking secondary effects prevents flinches and other incidental disruption from stopping its job, while Sweet Veil has more obvious team value in doubles.
Ribombee in Nuzlockes
Ribombee is a high-value but low-margin Nuzlocke Pokémon: it can outspeed and cleanly remove many threats, but its 60/60/70 defensive profile gives little room for an incorrect damage estimate. The line's early availability and level-25 evolution are major positives because the player does not have to protect a weak first stage until the late game. Its Dragon immunity and very strong Fighting resistance can create safe entries when enemy movesets are known, but five weaknesses and low physical bulk make blind switching dangerous, especially against opponents carrying priority or coverage. Shield Dust is excellent for permadeath play because it removes secondary-effect variance from incoming damaging moves, preventing events such as an unexpected flinch or status proc from turning a planned sequence into a death. Moonblast is reliable and accurate, whereas Stun Spore is useful but should never be treated as guaranteed speed control because its imperfect accuracy can fail at the worst possible moment. Quiver Dance is safest when Ribombee already walls or strongly threatens the opposing Pokémon; attempting to stack multiple boosts against a foe that can land meaningful neutral damage creates unnecessary critical-hit exposure.

It rolls up pollen into puffs. It makes many different varieties, some used as food and others used in battle.
Some of Ribombee’s pollen puffs are highly nutritious. They are sometimes sold as supplements.
Rain makes pollen damp, so Ribombee hates rain. When it sees ominous clouds, it finds a hollow in a tree, where it waits stock-still.
It can predict the weather from moisture levels and wind direction. Ribombee only reveals itself when there are a few clear days in a row.
It makes pollen puffs from pollen and nectar. The puffs’ effects depend on the type of ingredients and how much of each one is used.
Ribombee absolutely hate getting wet or rained on. In the cloudy Galar region, they are very seldom seen.

Ribombee Biology and Behavior
Ribombee stores collected pollen in its fluffy body hair, but rain makes both its fur dirty and its pollen damp, so it avoids fields unless clear weather is expected. It can predict approaching weather by sensing moisture levels and wind direction; before storms it hides in hollow trees and waits motionless. The nectar and pollen it gathers are fashioned into Pollen Puffs with different properties, including edible varieties and soothing versions that relieve fatigue. Alolan people sell especially nutritious Pollen Puffs as valuable supplements, and later accounts describe Ribombee making puffs to cheer sad humans or Pokémon. Recent animation has also shown that Ribombee can sometimes live inside the cells of a Vespiquen's abdomen in places normally occupied by Combee, adding an unusual documented association between the species.

Ribombee Size Comparison: BETA
Ribombee is listed at 0' 8" (0.2 m); this chart uses a pose-adjusted visual scale because wings can extend beyond the main body silhouette.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
Ribombee is currently tagged for wings.
