Pachirisu Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Pachirisu in a Playthrough
Pachirisu is a single-stage pure Electric Pokemon whose base 95 Speed and 90 Special Defense are respectable but whose base 45 Attack and 45 Special Attack make direct damage disappointingly weak. In a normal playthrough it is therefore more useful through utility such as Thunder Wave, Nuzzle in later games, Charm, Light Screen, Super Fang, U-turn or Volt Switch, and Pickup rather than through attempts to sweep with Electric STAB. Pure Electric typing gives it only a Ground weakness while resisting Electric, Flying, and Steel, and the Hidden Ability Volt Absorb improves that defensive profile further by turning Electric attacks into immunity plus healing. Super Fang is particularly useful because it removes half of a target's current HP regardless of Pachirisu's poor attacking stats, while reliable paralysis lets its good Speed support slower teammates. Pachirisu can contribute throughout a story when the team values disruption and safe utility, but players expecting a conventional offensive Electric-type will usually find species such as Luxray, Raichu, Magnezone, or Jolteon much easier to use.
Pachirisu in Competitive Pokémon
Pachirisu has essentially never been a serious standard singles threat: Smogon lists it in DPP and SV around ZU-level relevance, and its 45/45 offenses prevent it from pressuring ordinary defensive Pokemon through direct attacks. Its legitimate singles tools are support-oriented—Super Fang cuts bulky targets down regardless of offensive stats, Nuzzle or Thunder Wave spreads paralysis, Volt Absorb can create an Electric immunity, and pivoting or screens can help teammates—but stronger support Pokemon usually accomplish more with the same team slot. Its competitive reputation instead comes overwhelmingly from doubles, where Se Jun Park famously won the 2014 Pokemon World Championships Masters Division with Pachirisu on his team. The official championship record lists an Impish Pachirisu with Volt Absorb, Sitrus Berry, Nuzzle, Follow Me, Super Fang, and Protect; Follow Me redirected dangerous attacks away from its partners, Super Fang created reliable damage without offensive investment, and Nuzzle supplied speed control. That victory did not suddenly make Pachirisu a broadly powerful species, but it is one of the clearest examples in competitive Pokemon of specialized support tools and metagame fit mattering more than base-stat total.
Pachirisu in Nuzlockes
Pachirisu is much safer in a Nuzlocke than its poor offensive stats might imply because pure Electric typing has only one weakness, base 95 Speed lets it use support before many opponents move, and base 90 Special Defense is genuinely useful against special attackers. Charm can sharply reduce physical damage, while Nuzzle or Thunder Wave provides deterministic speed control and Super Fang can weaken bulky enemies without relying on Pachirisu's base 45 attacking stats. Volt Absorb is especially valuable when available because it converts an incoming Electric move into free healing, creating both an immunity and a predictable switch opportunity. The main danger is that Pachirisu often cannot finish opponents quickly, so battles last longer and create more opportunities for critical hits, status, or unexpected coverage; strong Ground attacks are particularly dangerous. It is best used as a support specialist that makes dangerous fights safer for stronger teammates rather than being forced to win long neutral exchanges itself.

Pachirisu Biology and Behavior
Pachirisu is an arboreal electric squirrel whose enormous tail is almost twice the length of its body and can discharge stored electricity. It sheds electrically charged fur and deliberately rolls the loose hair into static-filled balls, then hides favorite foods such as Berries inside those furballs and stores them in holes in trees; anything attempting to steal the cache receives an electrical shock. Pachirisu can share electricity socially by rubbing its cheek pouches against another individual's, demonstrating that electrical exchange is used cooperatively as well as defensively. Despite its short limbs it can run extremely quickly and may exhaust pursuing Pokemon through sustained movement. When sleeping it curls its large tail around its body and uses it as a pillow, while its habitat includes forest treetops, woodland edges, and areas near power plants.

Pachirisu Size Comparison: BETA
Pachirisu is listed at 1' 4" (0.4 m); this chart uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
Pachirisu currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
