Glaceon Glaceon Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Glaceon in a Playthrough
Glaceon's 130 Special Attack makes its Ice-type attacks extremely powerful, giving it strong offensive matchups against Dragon-, Flying-, Grass-, and Ground-types that can become especially valuable late in many games. Contrary to its reputation as a conventional glass cannon, 110 Defense and 95 Special Defense give it respectable raw defenses, but 65 HP, 65 Speed, and pure Ice typing make that bulk difficult to exploit consistently. Its low Speed frequently forces it to absorb an attack before retaliating, while weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel expose it to several common offensive types. Availability has also historically hurt Glaceon's playthrough value, as some games place the location or method required to evolve Eevee into Glaceon very late in the main story.
Glaceon in Competitive Pokémon
Glaceon functions primarily as a slow special wallbreaker, using its enormous 130 Special Attack to threaten heavy damage with moves such as Ice Beam and Blizzard. Freeze-Dry significantly improves its offensive profile in later generations by allowing an Ice-type attack to hit Water-types super effectively, reducing one of the traditional limitations of relying heavily on Ice STAB. Its respectable defensive stats are undermined by pure Ice typing, low Speed, entry-hazard vulnerability in relevant generations, and limited coverage, making it difficult to position safely against offensive teams. Glaceon can be extremely threatening once given an opportunity to attack, but faster and more versatile special wallbreakers generally provide similar damage with fewer structural weaknesses.
Glaceon in Nuzlockes
Glaceon's powerful Ice STAB can provide an important answer to dangerous Dragons and other Ice-weak bosses, and its 110 Defense means it can survive many neutral physical attacks better than its reputation suggests. The problem is that pure Ice typing provides very little defensive utility while creating weaknesses to several common attacking types, and its 65 Speed means Glaceon often has to withstand a hit before acting. This makes matchup knowledge especially important: against a known Ice-weak opponent without dangerous coverage, Glaceon can be an excellent specialist, while unexpected Fighting-, Rock-, Steel-, or Fire-type attacks can make it risky. Late evolution availability in some games further reduces its Nuzlocke value because Eevee may need to remain unevolved for a significant portion of the run.

Glaceon Biology and Behavior
Glaceon can deliberately lower its body temperature to approximately -75 degrees Fahrenheit, freezing its fur into needle-like icicles that can be fired at threats or prey. The same temperature control allows it to freeze atmospheric moisture almost instantly, producing ice crystals, diamond-dust flurries, and powdery snow. It can even surround food with ice pellets, while its frozen fur serves as protection when it sleeps. The glittering snowfall it creates is beautiful enough to distract observers before they realize they are being frozen, and humans make practical use of Glaceon's snow-producing ability at ski resorts.

Glaceon Size Comparison: BETA
Glaceon is listed at 2' 7" (0.8 m); this chart uses a pose-adjusted visual scale because large or floppy ears can extend above the substantial head.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
Glaceon is currently tagged for large ears.
