Regidrago Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Regidrago in a Playthrough
Regidrago is encountered through the same late Crown Tundra Split-Decision Ruins sequence as Regieleki, meaning the player normally chooses one of the two new giants rather than catching both on a single save without trading or transferring. Its stat spread is extremely unusual: base 200 HP is paired with only 50 Defense and 50 Special Defense, while both attacking stats are 100 and Speed is a moderate 80. Dragon's Maw multiplies the relevant attacking stat by 1.5 whenever Regidrago uses a Dragon-type move, making even its merely average raw offenses hit much harder than the numbers initially suggest. Its signature Dragon Energy reaches 150 base power at full HP and decreases in direct proportion to Regidrago's remaining HP, so keeping the enormous HP pool healthy is directly tied to offensive output. Dragon Pulse offers a reliable special alternative, while Dragon Claw provides dependable physical STAB; Draco Meteor and Outrage supply greater power but introduce accuracy, stat-drop, locking, or confusion risks. Pure Dragon grants Fire, Water, Electric, and Grass resistances with weaknesses only to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice, but Fairy-types are completely immune to Regidrago's defining STAB and therefore require teammates or non-Dragon coverage. Its huge HP total makes individual hits look less dangerous than base 50 defenses imply, but percentage-based healing and Dragon Energy both reward entering important battles at or near full health.
Regidrago in Competitive Pokémon
Regidrago has spent both Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet in NUBL, but the identical tier label hides a distinctive niche centered on one of the strongest full-health spread attacks available. Dragon's Maw gives all Dragon attacks a 1.5× offensive-stat multiplier, and Dragon Energy begins at 150 base power when Regidrago is at full HP, allowing Choice Specs or Dragon Fang sets to deal enormous neutral damage when Fairy-types have been removed. Choice Scarf is another natural option because base 80 Speed is only middling, while preserving full HP lets Regidrago threaten offense with a fast maximum-power Dragon Energy before taking chip. In Sword/Shield, its most severe flaw was a famously shallow coverage pool: Fairy-types could switch into Dragon attacks for complete immunity, and many Steel-types could exploit sets lacking the appropriate physical or special coverage. Scarlet/Violet gave Regidrago a more flexible environment because Terastallization can remove the Fairy immunity problem or strengthen Dragon attacks further, but the same dependence on health, middling Speed, and exploitable base 50 defenses has kept it from becoming a sustained upper-tier singles staple. It has also found situational doubles and VGC use because Dragon Energy hits both opposing Pokémon, meaning a healthy Regidrago under speed control can exert enormous immediate spread pressure. Its competitive identity is therefore less about broad versatility than about forcing opponents to respect a highly amplified Dragon attack whose power is strongest at the beginning of each healthy engagement.
Regidrago in Nuzlockes
Regidrago's base 200 HP can make it look nearly impossible to knock out, but a Nuzlocke should account for its base 50 Defense and Special Defense rather than treating the raw HP number as universal bulk. Pure Dragon gives four useful elemental resistances and only three weaknesses, which creates good defensive opportunities against known Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric attackers. Dragon Energy is exceptionally strong when Regidrago is healthy, but because its power falls with remaining HP, taking damage can simultaneously reduce both survivability and offensive reliability during a long boss battle. Dragon Pulse and Dragon Claw are perfectly accurate alternatives when maximum power is unnecessary, whereas Draco Meteor's 90% accuracy and Special Attack drop or Outrage's multi-turn lock and eventual confusion are meaningful permadeath risks. Fairy-types are the most important matchup warning because they are completely immune to Dragon attacks and can often threaten Regidrago super effectively in return. A Choice Scarf can turn base 80 Speed into a much safer revenge-killing profile, but being Choice-locked into a Dragon move is dangerous if an opposing Fairy remains in reserve. Regidrago is safest when kept healthy, brought into known resisted attacks, and used to secure clean knockouts rather than asked to absorb repeated neutral hits simply because its HP bar is unusually large.

Regidrago Biology and Behavior
Regidrago is a golem-like Legendary whose body is formed from crystallized dragon energy, with the densest concentration of that energy located in its central core. Legend says Regigigas created it from crystallized Dragon-type power but ran out of material after completing only the head, leaving the creature in an unfinished state. Ancient people are said to have feared the destruction a completed Regidrago might cause and sealed the incomplete Pokémon inside the Split-Decision Ruins after a period in which it had been worshipped. Its two arm structures resemble the upper and lower jaws of a dragon; Regidrago brings them together into a mouth-like shape when firing Dragon Energy. An unproven academic theory proposes that those arms may derive from the head of an ancient Dragon Pokémon, but canon presents that specifically as speculation rather than established anatomy.

Regidrago Size Comparison: BETA
Regidrago is listed at 6' 11" (2.1 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
