Jirachi Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Jirachi in a Playthrough
Jirachi is a Steel/Psychic Mythical Pokemon with the remarkable distinction of having base 100 in every stat, giving it no obvious statistical weakness and allowing physical, special, defensive, or support approaches. Serene Grace doubles the chance of many secondary effects, turning attacks such as Body Slam, Psychic, elemental punches, and especially later Iron Head into unusually reliable tools for paralysis, flinching, or other disruption. Calm Mind, Wish, Psychic, Doom Desire, Thunderbolt, elemental coverage, U-turn, Stealth Rock, Healing Wish, and many other moves let Jirachi fill whichever role a story team lacks. Steel/Psychic was defensively exceptional before Generation VI because Steel resisted Dark and Ghost; modern Jirachi adds weaknesses to Dark and Ghost but retains a long resistance list, a Poison immunity, and excellent neutral bulk. Its real playthrough limitation is availability rather than battle performance: Jirachi is usually event-, gift-, transfer-, or save-bonus dependent and therefore rarely appears as an ordinary catch during a main story.
Jirachi in Competitive Pokémon
Jirachi was already a major ADV OU Pokemon, where six base-100 stats, Steel/Psychic typing, Wish, Calm Mind, broad coverage, and Serene Grace allowed both durable defensive sets and dangerous special sweepers. Its resistance to sandstorm damage and immunity to poison were especially valuable in ADV, while Wish made Jirachi one of the most dependable Steel-type support Pokemon of its generation. Later generations created the most infamous expression of Serene Grace through Iron Head: its normal 30 percent flinch chance becomes 60 percent, and when combined with paralysis or Choice Scarf speed control Jirachi can deny opponents turns at a remarkably high rate. It has repeatedly remained relevant in OU through Choice Scarf pivoting, Wish support, Stealth Rock, Calm Mind, Healing Wish, and its ability to check threatening Psychic- or Fairy-type attackers depending on generation. The recurring drawbacks are Ground and Fire weaknesses plus later Dark and Ghost, along with four-moveslot pressure because Jirachi's movepool is much broader than any single set can exploit.
Jirachi in Nuzlockes
Jirachi is exceptionally safe by Nuzlocke standards because base 100 across every stat, a huge resistance list, a Poison immunity, and reliable support options give it very few truly bad neutral matchups. Wish can restore its own health or heal teammates, while paralysis, Calm Mind, screens, or flinch-based strategies can reduce the number of dangerous turns an opponent receives. Ground and Fire attacks are the traditional major threats, with Dark and Ghost becoming additional weaknesses from Generation VI onward; strong super-effective attacks should still be respected despite Jirachi's balanced bulk. Serene Grace can create extremely favorable outcomes, but relying on secondary effects or flinches as though they are guaranteed is less safe in permadeath play than simply using Jirachi's strong typing and stats. The largest practical limitation is access: most runs cannot obtain Jirachi through normal progression at all.

Jirachi Biology and Behavior
Jirachi spends almost its entire existence asleep, awakening for only seven days every thousand years before returning to hibernation. A pure singing voice can awaken it during the proper cycle, and while dormant its body may become enclosed within an extremely hard crystalline shell that protects it from attack; it can still defend itself without fully waking. Three wish tags hang from the points on its head, and legends say wishes written there can be granted when Jirachi awakens, although different canon stories describe the exact mechanism of its wish-making power differently. A third 'true eye' lies beneath a seam on its belly and is associated with its deepest powers; some stories connect the eye to absorbing energy needed for the next thousand-year sleep. Its life cycle is tied to celestial events such as the Millennium Comet in major depictions, making Jirachi less like an ordinary rare animal and more like a living astronomical event that briefly enters the world once each millennium.

Jirachi Size Comparison: BETA
Jirachi is listed at 1' 0" (0.3 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
