Using Kyogre in a Playthrough
Kyogre is a pure Water super-ancient legendary with base 150 Special Attack, 140 Special Defense, 100 HP, and Drizzle, which automatically summons rain when it enters battle. That single ability turns already powerful Water moves such as Surf, Hydro Pump, Origin Pulse, and especially Water Spout into some of the strongest story attacks available while also making Thunder perfectly accurate and weakening opposing Fire moves. Calm Mind can raise Special Attack and Special Defense even further, while Ice Beam covers Grass- and Dragon-type threats and Rest or other utility can support a more defensive approach. Primal Kyogre raises Attack to 150, Special Attack to 180, and Special Defense to 160 while replacing Drizzle with Primordial Sea, an extreme rain that nullifies Fire-type attacks entirely and cannot be replaced by ordinary weather. Its principal weaknesses remain Electric and Grass, while base 90 Speed is strong but not exceptional for a legendary, so fast physical attackers are usually the safest way for opponents to pressure it.
Kyogre in Competitive Pokémon
Kyogre was one of the defining forces of ADV Ubers immediately upon introduction, because permanent Drizzle plus base 150 Special Attack made rain-boosted Water STAB extraordinarily difficult to switch into. Calm Mind, Thunder, Ice Beam, Surf, Hydro Pump, Water Spout, Rest, and immense natural Special Defense supported both sweeping and tanking sets, and Kyogre's weather also enabled entire rain archetypes around teammates that benefited from Swift Swim or accurate Thunder. Its influence remained enormous across later generations, with Choice Scarf, Choice Specs, Calm Mind, and Water Spout variants repeatedly shaping Ubers teambuilding. Primal Kyogre increased the offensive ceiling to base 180 Special Attack and added Primordial Sea, but in ORAS Ubers it also faced the defining rivalry with Primal Groudon, whose Desolate Land could completely shut off Water moves when Groudon controlled the weather. Kyogre's long competitive history is therefore less about one set than about weather itself: few Pokemon have ever altered an entire metagame simply by entering the field as dramatically as Kyogre.
Kyogre in Nuzlockes
Kyogre is an exceptionally powerful Nuzlocke legendary because rain begins automatically, base 150 Special Attack can end battles quickly, and 100/90/140 bulk provides substantial room for error. Water Spout can remove dangerous opponents before they act when Kyogre is healthy, while Ice Beam and Thunder provide broad coverage and Calm Mind can turn favorable special matchups into nearly unbreakable ones. The main danger is physical Electric or Grass coverage and fast physical attackers, since Special Defense is much stronger than Defense and base 90 Speed does not guarantee moving first. Primal Kyogre makes Fire moves completely ineffective while its special offense becomes even more extreme, but the player should still avoid assuming that sheer legendary power makes super-effective physical hits safe. When available within a run's rules, Kyogre is one of the strongest possible endgame safety nets.

Kyogre Biology and Behavior
Kyogre is an ancient oceanic Pokemon credited in Hoenn mythology with expanding the seas by summoning colossal rainstorms and raising water levels across the world. It can cloak the entire sky in storm clouds and was historically revered as a savior in regions suffering from drought, despite the catastrophic flooding its full power can also produce. Kyogre is extraordinarily long-lived and spent thousands of years sleeping in the marine trench of Seafloor Cavern after its ancient clash with Groudon was stopped by Rayquaza. Primal Kyogre is described as its original fully powered form, sustained by primordial natural energy; its body becomes partly translucent and reveals glowing organ-like structures while seawater-like energy spills from it. In that state Primordial Sea can raise ocean levels and completely nullify Fire attacks, and ancient clashes between Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon were severe enough to threaten the balance and survival of the planet.

Kyogre Size Comparison: BETA
Kyogre is listed at 14' 9" (4.5 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
