Spiritomb Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage
Using Spiritomb in a Playthrough
Spiritomb is a single-stage Ghost/Dark Pokemon with balanced base 92 offenses, excellent base 108 Defense and Special Defense, and extremely low base 35 Speed. In Generations IV and V its typing has no conventional weaknesses at all while granting immunities to Normal, Fighting, and Psychic, making it unusually easy to position defensively; the introduction of Fairy in Generation VI finally gives Spiritomb a single type weakness. Pressure drains additional PP from attacks directed at it, while the Hidden Ability Infiltrator allows moves to bypass Substitute and defensive screens in later generations. Shadow Ball or Dark Pulse support special offense, Sucker Punch and other Dark moves support physical sets, and Will-O-Wisp, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot in later games, Taunt, Pain Split, Rest, and status give it numerous bulky utility options despite the terrible Speed. Its greatest story-game drawback is often acquisition rather than battle quality: the original Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum method requires an Odd Keystone and extensive interaction in the Underground before Spiritomb appears, so a player may have to deliberately work for an encounter that many other Pokemon provide more conveniently.
Spiritomb in Competitive Pokémon
Spiritomb was one of DPP UU's most important defensive and utility Pokemon, where its three immunities, strong 108/108 defenses, lack of type weaknesses, and mixed offensive stats made it an unusually reliable answer to Ghost-, Psychic-, and Fighting-type threats. It also functioned as an excellent spinblocker before Defog became the dominant hazard-removal method, and Pursuit or Sucker Punch allowed it to trap or punish frail Psychic- and Ghost-types while Will-O-Wisp, RestTalk, Calm Mind, and Pain Split supported defensive roles. The Fairy type introduced in Generation VI finally gave Spiritomb a genuine weakness, and stronger Ghost- and Dark-types gradually reduced its unique value, although it remained useful in tiers such as XY RU and SM PU. Infiltrator gave later versions a new way to ignore Substitute and screens, and modern SV ZU analyses use both physically defensive sets and extremely slow Trick Room plus Nasty Plot offense. Spiritomb's long-term limitation is that base 50 HP and 35 Speed make its impressive defenses less overwhelming than they appear, and its recovery options are generally inferior to those of the best dedicated walls.
Spiritomb in Nuzlockes
Spiritomb is exceptionally safe in Generations IV and V because it has no ordinary type weaknesses, three complete immunities, and strong defenses on both sides, allowing it to enter many known attacks without risking a super-effective hit. From Generation VI onward Fairy becomes the one major typing danger, but Normal, Fighting, and Psychic immunities continue to create excellent planned switches. Base 35 Speed means Spiritomb normally absorbs an attack before responding, so repeated neutral hits and critical hits can still accumulate despite the favorable typing; its modest base 50 HP also means the defensive stats should not be mistaken for infinite bulk. Will-O-Wisp can greatly reduce physical damage but can miss, while Sucker Punch depends on predicting an attacking move and Pain Split produces variable healing, so each introduces more uncertainty than a simple reliable attack. Spiritomb is strongest in a Nuzlocke as a predictable immunity pivot and bulky status user, with its notorious acquisition requirements often representing a greater obstacle than keeping it alive once obtained.

Spiritomb Biology and Behavior
Spiritomb is not a single conventional organism but a union of exactly 108 spirits projecting a swirling purple body from an Odd Keystone. The spirits became notorious for mischief and other wrongdoing and were bound into the stone by a traveler using a mysterious spell roughly 500 years ago, preventing the collection from roaming freely. Spiritomb can lay curses through wicked thoughts and may pursue vengeance with little concern for the consequences, while animated portrayals show that losing even one constituent spirit can send the remaining whole into an uncontrollable rampage until it is restored. Pokémon Legends: Arceus represents the seal literally through 108 scattered Wisps, reinforcing that the individual spirits can exist separately when the binding is disrupted. Pokémon Sleep adds an especially strange detail: the 108 spirits are said to dream separately from Spiritomb and from one another even while the body remains firmly trapped in the Odd Keystone.

Spiritomb Size Comparison: BETA
Spiritomb is listed at 3' 3" (1.0 m) and shown in an in-chart visual comparison.

How is visual size determined?
Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.
For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.
The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.
