Regirock Playthrough, Competitive, and Nuzlocke Usage

Using Regirock in a Playthrough

Regirock is a single-stage pure Rock legendary built around one of the highest physical Defense stats in the series: base 200 Defense paired with base 80 HP and 100 Attack. That makes ordinary physical Normal-, Flying-, Poison-, and Fire-type attacks extremely easy to absorb, while Rock Slide or Stone Edge, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, Superpower, and other coverage let Regirock retaliate with respectable physical damage. Clear Body prevents opponents from lowering its stats, and the later Hidden Ability Sturdy can guarantee survival from a full-HP knockout attempt, which is particularly useful during difficult story battles. The problem is typing rather than raw durability: pure Rock is weak to Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel, and Regirock's base 100 Special Defense—good in isolation—is much less spectacular than its physical side. Because it is usually encountered late and often behind puzzle or postgame requirements, Regirock rarely shapes an entire main story, but once caught it functions as an extremely dependable physical tank and Stealth Rock or status user.

Regirock in Competitive Pokémon

Regirock debuted in ADV UUBL and has spent much of its competitive history in lower tiers, where base 200 Defense, base 100 Attack, and a broad utility movepool make it far more useful than a simple wall. It can set Stealth Rock in later generations, spread Thunder Wave or Toxic, use Rock STAB and Earthquake for respectable damage, and exploit its enormous physical bulk to check Normal-, Flying-, and Fire-type attackers. Clear Body protects against Intimidate and other stat drops, while Sturdy in later formats can guarantee an emergency support turn if entry hazards have not broken it. Its weaknesses to common Water-, Ground-, Grass-, Fighting-, and Steel-type attacks and lack of reliable instant recovery are the recurring reasons it does not become a dominant wall despite the extraordinary Defense stat. Regirock's competitive identity is therefore that of a sturdy lower-tier glue Pokemon: excellent at compressing physical tanking, hazard setting, and status support, but vulnerable to special pressure and repeated chip.

Regirock in Nuzlockes

Regirock can be exceptionally safe against known physical attackers in a Nuzlocke because base 200 Defense leaves an enormous margin for error against neutral contact and resisted physical moves. Sturdy is excellent insurance when available, while Clear Body prevents unexpected stat drops from turning a carefully planned matchup against it. The danger is assuming that the Defense stat makes every matchup safe; super-effective Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting, and Steel attacks can still deal enormous damage, especially from the special side. Its low base 50 Speed also means Regirock usually has to absorb an attack before responding, so coverage knowledge matters even when it has the favorable raw stat line. As with most legendaries, availability is often late enough that its Nuzlocke value is concentrated in endgame or postgame encounters rather than throughout the run.

Regirock Biology and Behavior

Regirock is a golem composed entirely of stone and boulders, with no detectable heart, brain, or conventional internal anatomy even when examined using advanced technology. When pieces of its body are broken off or eroded, it repairs itself by finding new rocks and attaching them directly to the damaged area. Because of this endless self-repair, stones making up a single Regirock may originate from geological layers and locations scattered around the world, giving the body a literal patchwork history. Legend says Regigigas created Regirock from stone, after which ancient humans worshipped it before eventually fearing its power and sealing it away. The mystery is not simply how Regirock lives, but what 'living' means for a creature with no organs at all whose body can be rebuilt indefinitely from ordinary rock.

How is visual size determined?

Pokédex height is treated as the official listed measurement, but the chart uses pose-aware visual scaling so each sprite looks reasonable in a direct comparison.

For long or coiled Pokémon, the listed height may represent total body length rather than upright height. For Pokémon with floppy ears, leaves, feathers, antennae, wings, or other flexible features, the chart usually measures to the top of the solid, substantial part of the head or body instead of the tallest decorative feature.

The goal is not to replace the official height, but to make the artwork compare naturally at the size it appears to occupy.

Regirock currently uses a pose-adjusted visual scale.
